Our Campus
Where Generations Learned, Grew and Belonged
Located in Mirabazar, Sylhet, the campus of Shahjalal Jamia Islamia School and College has been part of thousands of students’ lives since 1978. More than a place of study, it is where friendships began, values were formed and memories were created that continue to connect alumni across generations.
A Place That Shaped Us
For every Jamia alumnus, the campus holds a different story. Some remember their first day in class, while others remember morning assemblies, examinations, sports competitions, cultural programmes and long conversations with friends.
Spaces for Learning
The campus supports academic learning through classrooms, practical facilities and dedicated study spaces.
Library
The institutional library provides students with a quiet place to read, study and explore subjects beyond the classroom. According to the school, it can accommodate approximately 100 students at a time.
Science Laboratories
Dedicated Physics, Chemistry and Biology laboratories support practical learning and help students understand scientific concepts through observation and experimentation.
ICT Lab
The campus includes an ICT and computer laboratory where students can develop practical digital skills and become more confident with modern technology.
Playground
The playground has long been an important part of campus life, providing space for physical activity, team sports and memorable school competitions.
Beyond the Classroom
Campus life at Jamia extends beyond lessons and examinations. Students take part in speech and debate competitions, essay writing, annual sports, cultural programmes, study tours and the observance of national days.
Science fairs, project presentations, tree-planting activities, book festivals, sports events and student orientation programmes also form part of the institution’s wider campus life.
These experiences give students opportunities to develop confidence, creativity, teamwork and responsibility.
Memories Across Generations
Every batch has its own memories of Jamia.
The familiar classrooms, corridors, playground and gathering spaces witnessed years of learning, friendship and personal growth. Teachers offered guidance, classmates became lifelong friends and ordinary school days became memories that alumni still carry with them.
Our campus is not simply where we studied. It is a shared part of who we are.
